Hold the siding firmly while you cut it and close the jaws of the snipper only about 2 3 of the way on each cut.
Cutting a square hole in log siding.
Drill and countersink pilot holes for screws in two opposite corners.
Cut the square place the drill with the point of the bit at one inside corner of the square.
Between each cut adjust the blade depth so it is deeper by inch.
Using the line you scored with the hammer and chisel as your cutting guide use the circular saw to cut along the length of the line.
The edges of the drill bit should touch the sides of the square but not go past it.
